Monday, October 23, 2006 at 07:50PM Okay... so in our last episode, Little Man had a bout of gastrointestinal funk. He seemed okay by the next morning, though we've kept his meals light (and bland-colored) just in case.
Late yesterday afternoon, though, I started feeling kinda yucky... it was a pretty important night for our church family -- more on that later, Lord willing -- so I couldn't be terribly surprised that I "happened" to start feeling sick thirty minutes before we were going to start. I prayed that if I had some bug that absolutely had to be expelled from my body, that we be able to have our meeting before it hit. Sure enough... I was running up and down the stairs to our bathroom (I love my roommates too much to use theirs in this case) until I got so worn out from puking that I just wadded up a towel under my head and lay down in the bathroom floor. I haven't gotten sick again today but I haven't felt back to normal either.
Tonight, Little Man had an explosive diaper. An hour later, he threw up again. Wiping his face, I noticed an odd little raised patch and wondered whether he had a rash setting in.
Whatever it is, I've discovered it's also in large patches on the top of my right leg and on the back of my arm...
So, yeah, we'd appreciate all the prayers you're willing to send up. I'll post an update soon, provided my fingers don't fall off.
The good news:
the spot on my son's cheek went away... and, the big crazy rash I started getting last night turned out to be hives -- something my favorite "crunchy" mom Ami told me can be caused by a weakened immune system or stress... or in my case, both. At least it wasn't something else contagious. Because...
The bad news:
...whatever Little Man and I had, it got loose and has taken poor Daddy hostage.
I started having mental images this morning of clearing all my boys out of the house, pulling the top off a Lysol grenade with my teeth, lobbing it inside and running like hell. Maybe it's just all the crackers and Gatorade talking, though.
I would also like to take this opportunity to offer a public apology to Cheryl, her children, and anyone else who might have left my house this weekend with "the gift that keeps on giving." I promise, guys, if I'd thought it was anything contagious -- or if Little Man hadn't been clear of all symptoms for a full day before you came over -- I'd have quarantined the place and called the whole thing off. Hope you feel better soon.

I love you, my sister, and I continue to lift you up.
Truth was sick on Sunday, but just high fever. She never threw up. But I have held sick little ones while they threw up and in between I took my turn hurling all my dinner. NOT FUN! I hope you get better soon and your son too.
OK so you definitely should get some kind of reward after all this- at least a night out with your husband ;-).
Hang in there, it will pass.
love,
ann
