Everything You Know Is Wrong
Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 12:28PM I've been saying it would happen for nearly a decade, and now I am seeing it come to pass:
It's been declared that soy is bad for you, and chocolate is a health food. (The first link may ask you for an email address. Just make something up.) Yes, incidentally, both declarations come from the same osteopathic doctor's website. And yes, incidentally, you can buy the 'health food' chocolate bars directly from him for a meager thirty bucks per 12-pack plus exorbitant shipping fees...
I think it was best summed up in a statement made to the pastor of what I gather was a fairly affluent congregation: "I don't trust anyone who stands to profit from getting me to believe what he tells me."
Further proof that opinions are like [name of body part here]-- everyone's got one and most of 'em stink:
Right after I was reading another article from the first link where the doctor asserts that the phytoestrogens in soy products aren't nearly so powerful as advertised, a friend sent me a link to another online article that claims those same allegedly impotent phytoestrogens in soy products are making people gay.
I'd file this under "You Can't Make This Stuff Up" if not for the fact that, evidently, somebody can.
