Mommy's Little Man...

 outside.jpg

...is two years old today.

He runs and jumps and plays with sticks and bugs. He's conversational in two languages. He offers "Hi!", "Bye!" and his million-dollar smile to absolutely anyone who makes eye contact. He is almost as generous with his hugs and kisses, and they are absolutely to die for. He is quick to come alongside you when you look upset, lay his sweet little chubby hand on your shoulder and ask, "You okay?" He carries my five-pound hand weights around the living room for fun. He will extend absolutely anything he has in his hand to you and say "Cheers!" (though it sounds more like "Ursss!" at the moment) to celebrate its existence and yours. He makes a mean lunch-meat-and-pretzel soup and is also one helluva dancer.

He is also prone to Incredible-Hulk-esque fits of temper, has mastered the 180-decibel scream and still apparently thinks his diaper can serve as an alternate food source in a pinch. I feel compelled to mention these in case other mommies start wondering whether I won some kind of parenthood lottery.

The answer, of course, is "Yes. Yes, apparently I did."

Happy birthday, Handsome.

MANY YEARS TO AIDEN AND FAMILY!!!

I'd say happy birthdy in Russian, but I don't have mad Russian skills although if I ever find myself single and in Russia, the Pimsleur tapes have really prepared me to pick up a Russian woman (This of course assumes that her name is Petrova, she likes talking about speaking & understanding Russian, knows where I can find Dverskya Street and Red Square, and doesn't give too confusing of a reply when I suggest a drink at my place, otherwise I'm pretty much sunk unless she speaks English.).

Anyhow,

Herzliche Gluckkwuensche zum gerburtstag, kleine Dude!!!

Sorry about the spelling, I have poor linguistic skills, and hooked on Phonics didn't help with subtle Gaelic vowels.
