If Little Man's speaking abilities were on par with his dazzling intellect, I'd probably have heard something like this: "What? Of course I wasn't huffing Daddy's red marker! Honestly, Mama, the very idea...! I was just hunkered down behind the lounger... um... thinking of how much I love you! Out of sheer curiosity, though, why do you ask?"
