Junk Toys?
Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 10:31PM We interrupt this deep spiritual dialog to bring you... something a little easier to chew.
There's a really interesting article on mothering.com right now about a campaign being waged against "junk" toys. As a parent who deeply appreciates generous gifters but also appreciates her sanity [in those rare instances she can find it], I've spent the past two years "rotating out" toys that don't bring my son enough pleasure to be worth the irritation they cause the rest of us.
The article is here. Please have a look and, if you're so inclined, write back and tell me the most irritating toy your child[ren] have received, and how you handled it...

I think this was the all time worst offender. I know it disappeared one day, but I really don't remember How.
i don't have a particular toy that's irritating, but it's more along the lines of how my dad CONTINUES to buy my kids electronic, battery-powered toys after i have repeatedly told him to stop.
the last two are ones his wife bought for the kids at a garage sale, so i didn't say anything. I'm planning to remind him in time for Killian's birthday, and if he keeps getting stuff like that for the munchkins, I'm going to send all of the toys to his house.
