I Heart Dallas

DALLAS, Texas (AP) -- Traffic on northbound Central Expressway ground to a halt late this morning after hundreds of  commuters collectively witnessed a paranormal phenomenon: large grayish masses of an unknown origin appeared overhead, all but squelching the familiar glare of the August sun in the North Texas sky.

"And then," stammered one dumbfounded driver who was asked to comment, "water -- tiny beads of it -- started coming down straight out of the air. It was almost like someone had turned on a huge lawn sprinkler... but, in the sky."

City officials have since learned that similar phenomena have been reported elsewhere in the country, but since those other places aren't Dallas, they don't care.

Okay. Now that I got that snarky little bit of satire out of my system...

Even though it is Texas ("Don't like the weather? Wait five minutes!") I'm cautiously optimistic that we may have seen the last of our 100+ degree days this year. Right now it's 75 outside, so it's a good thing I've recently sorted all my son's clothes -- I know exactly where to find the corduroys and sweatshirt he'll need to stay warm when we play in the yard this afternoon...

hah-this is very true in LA, also. people have no idea how to drive in the rain and we always joke they're saying to themselves "what is this water falling from the sky?" but you have summed it up perfectly!
